KZT Type Ceramic Lined Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve

The CeraValve KZT type features a ball design mounted on trunnions, positioned between two seats that are spring-loaded. There is minimal clearance between the ball and the seats, with the upstream seat serving as the primary seal. This configuration enables pressurisation in either direction and allows the valve to function effectively under low differential pressures. Constructed with 304 Stainless Steel for the housing and flanges, there are various material options available for customisation. Additionally, alternative ceramic materials can be chosen in place of the standard Zirconia ball and Alumina seats.

FAQs

Spring-loaded upstream seats ensure consistent sealing without clearance between the seats, enhancing valve performance and reliability, especially in applications with low pressure differentials or slow pressure build-up. This design minimises the risk of leakage and ensures efficient operation.

Yes, the valve offers the option for construction with various materials beyond 304 Stainless Steel. This flexibility allows for customisation based on specific application requirements, such as compatibility with different media, corrosion resistance, and environmental considerations.

In addition to the standard Zirconia ball and Alumina seats, the valve provides options for selecting alternative ceramic materials. These may include Silicon Nitride, Silicon Carbide, or other advanced ceramics, offering enhanced performance characteristics such as increased wear resistance, improved thermal stability, or higher chemical inertness.

While the valve design excels in applications with low differential pressure or slow pressure build-up, its suitability for high-pressure environments depends on various factors such as valve size, configuration, and material selection.

Maintenance requirements typically include periodic inspection, cleaning, and potential replacement of wearing components such as seals and seats. The frequency and extent of maintenance depend on factors such as operating conditions, media characteristics, and valve usage.

The valve's spring-loaded upstream seat and the absence of clearance between seats ensure consistent sealing, even under minimal pressure differentials or gradual pressure increases.
