Wras Approved Gate Valves TTV Potable Water

The Wras Approved Gate Valve consists of a GJS 400-15 Ductile Iron body in compliance with EN1074 to ensure the highest standard of efficiency throughout the product life. Valve wedges are constructed in Ductile Iron with a vulcanised, durable rubber coating capable of operation in temperatures up to 120°C. Sealing areas of the body reman flat offering an unrestricted flow path and ensure a 100% leak tightness. This avoids and possible maintenance or sealing issues that may arise through the accumulation of dirt and other debris solids within a small cavity.

Wras Approved Gate Valves

Gate valves play an essential role in controlling the flow of liquids and gases in many industrial and commercial applications. When it comes to applications involving potable drinking water, the valves used must meet stringent standards to ensure the water is safe and fit for human consumption without contamination. The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) in the UK is responsible for certifying products, materials and components that come into contact with the medium (Drinking water). Our TTV WRAS-approved gate valve offers several unique features that make it an excellent choice for potable water applications.

One of the most significant advantages of the TTV WRAS-approved gate valve is its materials of construction. The valve body is made of a high-quality GJS 400-15 Ductile Iron, which is known for its strength, durability, and corrosion resistance with a 300 micron internal and external epoxy coating. The gate of the valve is also constructed of GJS 400-15 Ductile Iron with a fully encasulated EPDM or NBR vulcansied runner. This is an excellent material for use in potable water applications due to its corrosion resistance and hygiene properties.
